Cleveland Circuits Supports University Rocketry Team's First Launch

Cleveland Circuits is proud to be supporting the St Andrews Rocketry Initiative (STARI), a student-led engineering group at the University of St Andrews, as the team prepares to launch its first rocket, Meridian-1.

As part of the sponsorship from our parent company, Cleveland Technologies Group (CTG), Cleveland Circuits is supplying a printed circuit board (PCB) for the project, helping the students turn their engineering designs into a working rocket.

Introducing the St Andrews Rocketry Initiative

STARI was established to promote aerospace engineering within the University of St Andrews, giving students the opportunity to gain practical experience in rocket design, development and testing.

The initiative has a core engineering team of eight students who have spent more than six months developing Meridian-1, their first rocket.

With designs finalised and construction underway, the team is preparing for its inaugural launch in North Ayrshire.

Meridian-1 represents an important first step for STARI, with ambitions to grow the initiative, attract new members and eventually compete in national student rocketry competitions.

Supporting the Next Generation of Engineers

As a UK-based electronics manufacturer, Cleveland Circuits understands the importance of developing practical engineering skills alongside academic study.

Projects like Meridian-1 give students valuable experience of the challenges involved in taking a design from concept through to manufacture, assembly and testing.

Through Cleveland Technologies Group, we're pleased to contribute to a project that encourages innovation, teamwork and hands-on engineering.

All three CTG businesses – Cleveland Circuits, Connect-2 Technology and Weyfringe – will also have their logos featured on Meridian-1 itself.

It's certainly not every day we get to see our company logos on a rocket!

Looking Forward to Launch

We're excited to follow STARI's progress as the team works towards its first launch and look forward to seeing Meridian-1 take flight.

We wish everyone involved the very best of luck and hope this first project marks the beginning of many exciting achievements for the initiative.
